The evian X Sara Shakeel NFT Drop On Tezos Has Sold Out

The evian X Sara Shakeel NFT Experience

Mineral water giant evian produces over 6 million bottles of mineral water per day, which amounts to over 2 billion bottles of mineral water per year. evian is one of the most iconic producers of mineral water world-wide.

Yesterday, the evian NFT drop went live on Tezos and 20 editions of the evian x Sara Shakeel NFT were up for sale through an interactive NFT experience.

To be able to buy, collectors needed to have a Tezos wallet, which is easily set up in a few clicks with Kukai combined with social media accounts like Twitter, Facebook, Reddit or Google.

“Celebrating evian’s iconic heritage from the glacial rocks in the heart of the French Alps, these individually numbered 20 NFT artworks mark evian’s exciting entrance into the emerging digital art space.”

The featured artist, Sara Shakeel, is a contemporary artist known for using glitter and Swarovski crystals to create both digital and physical collages on photography and three-dimensional objects.

Sara Shakeel garnered a cult following as well as a staggering mainstream audience of over 1M followers on Instagram alone.

This morning it was announced by evian that all editions had been sold out.

Secondary sales can now be found on Rarible here.

The proceeds of the sales will be donated 100% to the Somerset House Young Talent Fund charity.

The Young Talent Fund supports the next generation of early career creatives and artists to fulfill their potential, providing bursaries and financial relief as well as opportunities to under-represented creatives aged 18-25 through their Upgrade Yourself programme.

Environmentally Conscious

In 2008, evian created the evian Water Protection Institute to improve water management in several Asian regions.

Additionally, evian aims to cut their own energy and water use by incorporating post-consumer recycled PET plastic into the bottle sizes that receive the most sales and joined with RecycleBank in an effort to get consumers to recycle.

During 2018, evian announced that it will make all of its plastic bottles from 100% recycled plastic by 2025.

The evian environmental strategy is paying off, as we have seen that in 2020 evian became the first Danone brand to achieve carbon neutrality.

The choice for Tezos as blockchain was fully aligned with evian’s environmentally conscious strategy.

“Using Tezos technology, we are thrilled to be able to do this in an energy-efficient way, with each NFT having less of a carbon footprint than sending an email.”
