Tezos Hits Over 10,000 New Contract Deployments In A Month

A New Smart Contract Deployment Record

Tezos has recently hit 10,000 new smart contract deployments in July 2022, and the month isn’t even over.

This breaks the record for the highest number of new smart contracts deployed to the Tezos blockchain in one month.

As it stands now in July, 10,158 new contract deployments have been initiated with still over 5 days remaining in the month.

The stats for new contract deployments can be found on the Better Call Dev smart contract explorer here.

In July 2021, there were 505 new deployments of smart contracts to the Tezos blockchain, this represents over a 1,911% increase on the year.

In the month of June 2022, there were 6,913 deployments, representing a 46.94% increase on the month.

Developer Adoption

It’s been a big month for new development on Tezos and that has been aided by many developer / Web 3 events and hackathons that have taken place.

Some noticeable recent events have included Art Basel, Proof of People, the Polish Urban Art Area Festival, TezDev, and TezAsia.

Just two developer events, TezDev and TezAsia recorded over 12,200 registrants combined, with TezAsia still running until August 16th.

In a Git repository report, still in the process of being compiled by XTZ News, a total of 831 recently-updated and active repositories have been found so far (when duplicates are removed).

A total of 1,382 git repositories (including inactive) have been collected so far, however there are still many to still explore on different repository platforms including Github, Gitlab and Gitopia.

Once the full compilation has been completed, a fresh XTZ News article will be published with updated numbers.

Earlier today, Arthur Breitman – an early Tezos architect, discussed Tezos development and the state of the ecosystem with Messari Research and the recording can be found here:
