Manchester United Fans Become Legends At The New Museum Exhibit Powered By Tezos Digital Collectibles

In a recent development, Manchester United has once again highlighted the unique power of digital collectibles.

Back in May, an exhibit showcasing this groundbreaking technology opened at the heart of the Manchester United Museum.

Today, we bring you the story behind this exhibit and how it has indelibly etched the names of some lucky fans into United’s history and how a brand new drop is planned for the future.

Longtime United supporters, including Navjit Kang, Andrew Yong, and Mark Kempson, experienced a VIP weekend unlike any other at Old Trafford, courtesy of these digital collectibles.

Digital collectibles are a unique innovation in club memorabilia. They’re stored in a digital wallet and ownership entitles fans to various rewards.

“Just like stickers and signed shirts that fans have always collected, these are official pieces of club memorabilia,” explained Keir Mackay, senior marketing and community manager at Manchester United. He added that this novel technology represents a “permanence of blockchain technology.”

This new development came into existence in partnership with Manchester United’s official blockchain partner, Tezos, and Tezos ecosystem companies.

“We are proud to launch one of the biggest ever drops in sports history,” Mackay said. “Those fans who found Ultra Rare Keys were entitled to the biggest benefit yet, the chance to come to Old Trafford for a VIP weekend. Where they got to enjoy the final game of the season and also have their names etched into the museum for history.”

Mark Kempson, one of the lucky Ultra Rare Key holders, was delighted to see his name become a part of the museum:

“It’s amazing to see that my name is going to be a permanent part of the museum,” he said. “I’ve never had this kind of access before. It’s been absolutely brilliant.”

Navjit Kang, another Ultra Rare Key holder, echoed this sentiment:

“It really is the theatre of dreams… I never imagined that just buying an NFT would bring me this much joy. Old Trafford on match day. Getting the VIP treatment from Tezos and Man United. Can’t thank them enough,” he said.

The digital collectibles exhibit, now open to the public, aims to take fans through the story of Web3 and the new wave of club memorabilia.

The club invites supporters to join this digital community and uncover more about The Keys, The Devils, and exclusive rewards.

Beyond this, Manchester United has revealed plans for a new collection inspired by United’s first-ever Premier League title-winning season in 1992/93.

Fans will have the chance to own a piece of the club’s storied history and meet the legends of that iconic squad.

Club Historian Jason Leach emphasised the significance of this technological leap:

“Collecting football memorabilia has been very important to United fans for years. Whether it be programs, scarf collections of pin badges, but digital collectibles are the future.”

Through the power of blockchain technology, Manchester United and Tezos are ushering in a new era of fan engagement and club memorabilia.

United’s digital collectibles are not just souvenirs but keys that unlock unforgettable experiences and immortalise fans in the annals of the club’s history.
