AirGap Introduces AirGap Knox

AirGap Knox

AirGap is a wallet service that supports several blockchains and offers the AirGap Vault and the AirGap Wallet.

AirGap Vault can be installed on a dedicated smartphone that is completely offline and has no connection to any network, thus it is air-gapped. This way users can transform an old phone into a cold wallet.

AirGap Wallet is the companion application to AirGap Vault, and can be installed on your everyday phone.

AirGap is created by Papers, which we know well from the successful Tezos dApps such as DeFI platform Youves, Oracle service Acurast, and voucher system Ecoo.

Private transactions through Sapling on Tezos

Tezos has included Sapling which enabled optional privacy-preserving smart contracts for dApps.

This way private transactions can be made on the Tezos network through dedicated dApps.

AirGap was the first to make use of Sapling on Tezos mainnet. This allows for transactions to be conducted with true privacy and anonymity.

Introducing AirGap Knox

AirGap on a dedicated smartphone should work as a cold wallet, but your device could still potentially connect to a network.

Since it is crucial that all network connections are disabled and stay disabled, AirGap has introduced AirGap Knox.

“AirGap Knox takes security to the next level by automatically disabling all forms of network on an OS level, thereby achieving true offline security.

Once installed, the AirGap Knox takes control of the system and initiates the blocking of all connections on a deep system level — whether its wifi, cellular, NFC or Bluetooth. From then on, those can no longer be reactivated — Turning your device into a true hardware wallet.”
