4200 Tezzard Eggs Sold In Under 3 Hours For 63,000 Tez

 Tezzardz

Tezzardz is a new programmatically randomly generated PFP-style NFT collection available on Tezos. The Tezzardz were originally minted as eggs, but they have since hatched into fully-grown Tezzardz with unique traits.

The Tezzardz project has been created by well-known NFT artist George Goodwin, otherwise known as OMGiDRAWEDit. He is also known for the very popular ‘Bedroom Nostalgia’ series, some of which can be found here.

The Tezzardz collection consists of 4,200 randomly generated NFTs, with each NFT (barring 6 super rare hand-drawn Tezzardz) including a combination of 97 hand-drawn traits, putting the possibilities of unique Tezzardz into the billions. The Tezzardz project also benefits from its own FA2 Tezos smart contract.

The Tezzard collection can be found within its own OBJKT.com marketplace collection, here, which is presently the largest NFT marketplace on Tezos. OBJKT.com features NFTs from many Tezos NFT platforms including Hic Et Nunc, Kalamint, Interpop, Tezos Domains, Bazaar Market and tzcolors.

The Launch

On the 31st of August, users could mint Tezzard eggs for a price of 15 XTZ, up to 10 could be minted at one time. The sale lasted under 3 hours and a combined 63,000 tez was spent in return for the eggs.

The sale was a good stress-test for the Tezos blockchain and not every one was able to mint, due to the surge in extra traffic the launch created.

The month of August saw Tezos reduce gas fees by over 63% due to the Granada upgrade, this was despite a 22% increase in contract calls. As transaction costs on Tezos only cost a tiny fraction of what they do on Ethereum, the cost of a failed transaction was not too high to bear.

One day after the sale, these Tezzard eggs started to hatch into fully-grown Tezzardz (affectionately known as Fkrs), all coming with their own unique traits revealed.

This new set of programmatically randomly generated Tezzardz with unique traits are known as the ‘new-breed’. A very small number of ‘old-breed’ of Tezzardz were already created previously and they can be found here.

Some Tezzardz are more unique than others, and lower trait percentages indicate rarity in the Tezzard world.

In the Tezzard collection, there were also some very rare creatures that only have one rare trait. These represented 6 1/1 super rare hand-drawn, such as this one found below:

Lucky owners of these ultra-rare Tezzardz have been receiving very high bids, such as this one for 3000 XTZ (a 200X increase on the original purchase price of 15 XTZ).

You can find some of the highest offers sent in here within the OBJKT.com marketplace.

The floor price for the Tezzardz is currently sitting at around 165 XTZ at the time of writing.

With the huge success of this project to date, it is expected other similar programmatically, randomly-generated PFP style NFT projects will launch on Tezos soon. One such project expected to launch soon ‘The Mad Hatters Club‘.
